daft fashion

daft punk is quite fashionable now. i don’t just mean in the sense  that everyone’s hopping on the band wagon, but literally fashionable. with their last 2 outfits designed by hedi slimane of saint laurent, actually appearing on the saint laurent site, to these videos below.

the first was created for the 2013 cfda awards to show the nominees for “menswear designer of the year”–thom browne, michael bastian, and duckie brown; thom browne was the winner.  these male models are singing the lyrics to daft punk’s first single off random access memories “get lucky”.

then earlier today, the robotic duo was spotted in manhattan’s midtown (don’t even get me started on how upset i am that i’m not in town for that) shooting a video with someone who looks a lot like famous model karlie kloss.

so apparently that cool travel video i posted several days ago was part of a series for sta travel.  the one i posted was entitled “move”, and the other 2 are “eat” and “learn”.  i must say these are pretty effective viral marketing tools.  i know i like to move (travel, not exercise), eat, and learn (well, sorta) anyways.

and here’s “move” again so you can see them all together:

cold mailman | time is of the essence

pretty cool cold mailman “time is of the essence” music video from norwegian director andré chocron, starring nothing but architecture.  through the use of time lapse, he creates a light animation using the windows of residential towers in eastern oslo.  he makes the buildings look like equalizers; i particularly like the parts where words are spelled out and graphical icons are made…the setting moon is pretty cool too.

as my first post, i could be feeling some pressure to write something incredibly thought provoking or share something highly entertaining. unfortunately for you i’m lazy and will only be sharing this video (but hey, i think it’s cool).

designer collaborations have been quite popular for a while now. i don’t have any particular affinity for  levi’s or opening ceremony (gasp, blasphemy!), but i do really like this video promoting the levi’s chambray by opening ceremony collection.
